In “The Pleasures of God,” John Piper thoroughly investigates the attributes of God and what brings Him joy and delight. Piper heavily references Scripture, explores examples, and draws from his personal experiences to share the greatness and glory of God and His desire for His people. The book also guides and encourages readers to practical action for the purposes of God’s pleasure. Divided into focused, organized chapters which build on each other, Piper delivers a convincing presentation of God’s truth and the relationship that people have with Him. The vast amount of information in this book necessitates that the readers be focused and studious. This book will be beneficial for anyone seeking to know and love God and live a life centered around God. I will definitely be rereading this book so that I can more fully understand and integrate its knowledge and wisdom!
